David Bowie’s lost 2001 album “Toys” will finally be released.
A collection of re-recordings and performances of his early songs of the late musical legend was originally planned to be released after the 1999 LP “Hour’s …”, but in his opinion with his previous label, Virgin. The discrepancy prevented the fans from listening to the jewels.
The album was leaked online in 2011, but it was announced that “Toy” would be part of the next “Era Five” box set.
The fifth installment in the series, Brilliant Adventure (1992 – 2001), will be released shortly.
As a kick-off, fans can listen to the radio edit of “You’ve Got A Habit of Leaving”. It was recorded by the “Starman” hit maker in 1965 and released as a single under the name Davy Jones with the band at the time. Lower third.

The “toys” news comes after the announcement that the real estate of the “Space Oddity” hit maker has signed a historic deal with Warner Music Group. That is, the major label now owns the rights to the entire back catalog of the iconic singer. Rocker’s pre-1968 recordings and many other tracks.
Warner already owned the rights to Bowie’s music, released between 1968 and 1999, after acquiring the Parlophone label group in 2013.
Bowie’s Sony-released records “Heathen,” “Reality,” “The Next Day,” and “Blackstar” will set up in Warner from 2023.

Bowie died in 2016, two days after the release of his final album (“Black Star”), after a personal fight against cancer at the age of 69.
