Another week in the NFL has led to more key injuries, as several notable players went down with ailments that knocked them out of their respective games in Week 3. We don’t know the severity of some of these injuries yet, but details will become available as soon as the games end and tests are completed.
Unfortunately, there are notable names on this list. Here’s a look at some of the key players who have been or are currently being evaluated around the NFL:
Mack suffered a left foot injury in the second quarter, and left for the locker room after spending time in the blue medical tent. Mack returned at the start of the third quarter despite limping significantly.
Buccaneers
- TE Rob Gronkowski (ribs)
- CB Jamel Dean (knee)
Gronkowski was hit in the ribs by Terrell Lewis on a catch in the third quarter and walked off the field under his own power to the locker room. Per Erin Andrews on the Fox broadcast, he got X-rays on his ribs. He returned later in the third.
The Bucs lost yet another starting cornerback when Dean left in the first half with a knee injury and did not return. Tampa Bay recently put Sean Murphy-Bunting on injured reserve, leaving them very thin at the position.
James is one of the best safeties in the NFL, but he’s struggled to stay healthy. He left L.A.’s matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs in the first half with a shoulder injury, and was listed as questionable to return.

Paye was ruled out with a hamstring injury — which he has been playing through for a week now.
Both Giants receivers went down in the first half with hamstring injures, but Martinez’s situation looked a little more serious. He went down with a non-contact knee injury and was ruled out.
White was carted off the field after suffering a hip injury in the first half, and was ruled out for the rest of Week 3. It appeared to be a serious injury.
Armstead suffered an elbow injury and walked to the locker room with the training staff.
Smith-Schuster suffered a rib injury and was ruled out for the remainder of Week 3.
Titans
Brown suffered a hamstring injury and was quickly ruled out. He even took off his uniform and was seen standing on the sideline in the second half. Brown played only eight snaps in the Titans victory.
