The so-called “anthropause” that saw many humans stay home amid social restrictions led to reduced traffic, air pollution, noise and deadly collisions with birds, the study found. It added that as a result, more birds frequented urban habitats including near major roads and airports, and in counties where lockdowns were more pronounced.
