Here is the latest ACC sports news from The Associated Press – WFMZ Allentown

UNDATED (AP) — Mike Krzyzewski says next season will be his last leading the Duke program. The Hall of Famer and winningest coach in the history of Division I men’s basketball made the announcement Wednesday. The school also named former Duke player and associate head coach Jon Scheyer as Krzyzewski’s successor for the 2022-23 season. Stadium first reported news of the 74-year-old Krzyzewski’s final season with Duke, which he has led to five national championships. Krzyzewski has won 1,170 games going back to his time at Army, with 1,097 coming in 41 seasons with the Blue Devils.

UNDATED (AP) — Former Southern California star Reggie Bush, who had his Heisman Trophy victory in 2005 vacated for committing NCAA violations, is among the players making their first appearance on the College Football Hall of Fame ballot. The National Football Foundation on Wednesday announced the players eligible for election into the Atlanta-based hall, and 26 of the 78 FBS players will be debuting on the ballot. Other first-timers included quarterbacks Andrew Luck of Stanford and Kellen Moore of Boise State, Penn State star linebackers LaVar Arrington and Paul Posluszny and former California running back Marshawn Lynch.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma takes one of the most prolific home run-hitting teams in NCAA Division I history into the Women’s College World Series. The team has 146 total homers. That’s second in Division I history to Hawaii’s 158 in 2010. The Sooners lead the nation with 2.81 homers per game. Oklahoma faces James Madison in the opening game. In other matchups, No. 5 seed Oklahoma State will play Georgia, No. 3 seed Alabama will face No. 11 seed Arizona and No. 2 seed UCLA will play No. 10 seed Florida State. The best-of-three championship series starts June 7.

UNDATED (AP) — Indiana’s breakout was one of the stories of the 2020 football season. Don’t bank on the Hoosiers to top it in 2021. On the latest AP Top 25 College Football Podcast, ESPN’s Chris Fallica, the Bear from “College GameDay,” joins the AP’s Ralph Russo to examine the team win totals set by oddmakers for the 2021 season. The Hoosiers are among Fallica’s five unders. That group also includes a Southeastern Conference team with a first-year coach and an Atlantic Coast Conference team with a tricky nonconference schedule. Among Fallica’s five overs are a couple of Big Ten bounce-back candidates and a much-hyped Pac-12 contender.
