(Los Angles, CA) — “The Crown” is the big winner after Sunday’s Emmy Award show. The Netflix drama took home seven Emmy’s including the award for Outstanding Drama Series. “Ted Lasso” went into the show with 13 nominations and came out with four wins. Meanwhile, late actor Michael K. Williams did not win a posthumous award. Instead, Tobias Menzies took home the award for Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

On Sunday, he won his eleventh Emmy, which set a new record for the most Emmy award wins by a Black entertainer. “RuPaul’s Drag Race” beat out “The Amazing Race,” “The Voice,” “Top Chef” and “Nailed It!” for the Outstanding Competition Program award. During his acceptance speech, RuPaul addressed the kids out there watching saying they have a tribe that is waiting for them.

Kelly Clarkson said Grande is funny on camera but is 100 times funnier behind the scenes. Grande said none of her jokes make it to air, but her colorful language is worth it to make the other judges laugh. Daily chimed in saying they had to double the show’s budget to “bleep” out Grande’s curse words so they don’t make it to air.
(New York, NY) — Wendy Williams is voluntarily admitting herself to a psychiatric evaluation. Multiple reports say the talk show host has been struggling with mental health problems. Williams tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week, but is asymptomatic. This forced the delay of he new season The Wendy Williams show. Health professionals working with her say her mental health continues to improve by the day, and her COVID is still under control. Wendy’s show was set to premiere on September 20, but due to the circumstances it has been pushed out to October 4th.
(Undated) — Comedian Chris Rock is battling the coronavirus. He took to Twitter on Sunday to announce he just found out he has the virus. Addressing his millions of followers, he said “trust me you don’t want this. Get vaccinated.” Rock revealed earlier this year that he is vaccinated with the Johnson & Johnson shot. “Seinfeld” producer and writer Larry Charles replied to Rock’s tweet saying “Please have a swift and mild case and a full recovery. Hurry, we need you.”

She said “I do” to Will Logsdon two weeks after turning 30. They were surrounded by colorful flowers and handmade ceramic pieces, as well as their closest friends and family. Their dogs even got in on the fun as part of their wedding cake topper.

The new martial arts epic from Marvel Studios earned nearly 22-million-dollars in its third weekend in theaters and has grossed almost 177-million-bucks domestically since its release. Coming in second is the Ryan Reynolds action movie “Free Guy” with just over five-million-dollars. In third place is the new Clint Eastwood feature “Cry Macho” — which opened with four-a-half-million-dollars in the U.S. and Canada. Rounding out the Top Five are “Candyman” and “Malignant.” The Tammy Faye Bakker biopic [[ BYE-oh-pick ]] “The Eyes of Tammy Faye” starring Jessica Chastain finished in ninth place.

The survey from The Dallas Morning News and the University of Texas at Tyler shows McConaughey with a nine point lead over Abbott, although the actor has so far only entertained the idea of running and it’s not clear what party he would represent. Abbott’s approval rating has dropped to 45 percent after signing legislation like a ban on mask mandates and a ban on most abortions after six weeks.
(Hollywood, CA) — Flowers continue to be placed upon Jane Powell’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The singer and actress best known for her roles in MGM musicals of the 40s and 50s died Thursday of natural causes at her Wilton, Connecticut home at the age of 92. Some of Powell’s best-known films include “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers,” “A Date With Judy,” “Nancy Goes to Rio,” “Royal Wedding” and “The Girl Most Likely.” In a 1997 interview — Powell remembered making her first film called “Song of the Open Road.”
