(Undated) — President Biden is asking the entertainment industry to tighten its coronavirus safety measures. Speaking from the White House on Thursday, he addressed entertainment venues, sports stadiums, and movie theaters. He asked they either require attendees to get vaccinated or show a negative test as a condition of entry. This comes as live event companies like AEG and Live Nation have already put in similar rules.
— English actress Kathryn Prescott is in the hospital after being hit by a cement truck. Her twin sister, Megan Prescott, took to Instagram to say the “A Dog’s Journey” actress was crossing a New York street on Tuesday when she was hit. Prescott broke her pelvis in two places, both legs, her foot, and her hand. Megan noted her doctors are hopeful she will make a full recovery, but it will only be possible with the correct care. Megan explained she is stuck in the U.K. because of coronavirus restrictions, but she wants to come to be by Kathryn’s side and provide 24 hour care for her once she’s out of the hospital.
— Talk show host Wendy Williams is canceling her upcoming public appearances. A statement on her talk show’s Instagram page said she is dealing with “ongoing health issues and is undergoing further evaluations.” She will be out for the next week, but she is set to return on September 20th for the season 13 premiere of her show. Last year, the 57-year-old took time off because of concerns around her Graves’ disease.
— Kim Kardashian’s oldest daughter is calling her out for changing her voice on Instagram. Eight-year-old North West joined Kardashian on a recent video promoting some of her new beauty products, and asked her mom why she talks different when she’s making videos. Kardashian insisted she doesn’t talk different, and asked North, how do I talk? Her daughter then gave a sassy, high-pitched impression of Kardashian’s Instagram voice. North’s nine-year-old cousin Penelope Disick was also in the video, and agreed that Kardashian was changing her voice for Instagram.
— Addison Rae is signing a multi-picture film deal with Netflix. The TikTok star recently wrapped on her first Netflix film “He’s All That,” which is a remake of the 1999 film “She’s All That” staring Rachael Leigh Cook and Freddie Prinze Junior. The movie has reached number one is several countries already. Speaking to Variety, Rae said it has been a dream working with the streaming platform and production company. She added she’s excited to continue her acting career with Netflix.
— The actor who played Kevin on “The Office” is the biggest star on the Cameo video-messaging platform. Cameo CEO Steve Galanis says Brian Baumgartner made over a million dollars on the platform last year by charging 195-dollars per message for the show’s fans. Baumgartner gives credit to the show, and told the Hollywood Reporter that “The Office” is still a very popular, but added that people also wanted to “make a connection” during last year’s pandemic. Baumgartner is also the host of an “Office” podcast, and has a book coming out next month called “Welcome to Dunder Mifflin.”
