Emma Stone will star in the sequel to “Cruella”.
The 32-year-old actress signed a contract with Disney to portray the villain Cruella de Vil of “One Hundred and One Dog” in another movie after playing a role in a movie released earlier this year.
“Cruella” was released in both cinemas and the streaming service Disney + due to the coronavirus pandemic. The studio is expected to be a bit farther away for the next movie release, but is considering an approach.
After Scarlett Johansson appealed for the release of Marvel’s blockbuster “Black Widow” on steam service, the move is expected to benefit both sides and ease concerns about the studio.
Patrick Whitesell, Executive Chairman of Endeavor, said: There is a fair way to protect artists and align studio interests with talent.
“We are proud to work with Emma and Disney and appreciate the studio’s willingness to acknowledge her contribution as a creative partner, which will bring more members of the creative community. We hope to open the door to participating in the success of the new platform.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Disney was focusing on the sequel to “Cruella” just weeks after the release of the first movie.
Craig Gillespie also argued that there could be more movies centered around villains.
He states: “It looks like I just met her. I want to see it full of authentic Cruella. She manages to get a support system and can really expand the brand.
“I want to see where it takes her and how she can be destroyed inside out if she doesn’t pay attention to all its power.”
