Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, invited 40 friends to join her mentorship program.
To celebrate her 40th birthday on Wednesday (08.04.21), the Duchess joins a new video in which actress Melissa McCarthy launches a 40×40 initiative to “help women re-enter the workforce.” did.
As she writes on Archewell’s website, she says:
“Time with our loved ones, time to do what we love, time to learn, laugh, grow, and the sacred time we have on this planet.
“Some of the most valuable gifts of time have been spent serving others who know that it can contribute to incredible change.
“To that last point, and with the 40th lap around the sun in mind, I wondered. All of us helping someone else or guiding someone in need. What if you spend 40 minutes on it?
“So what if you ask your friends to do the same?”
In a video with Melissa, the “Bridesmaid” actress joked about a yacht party, a “suit” reunion, and even a tattoo match, after which Megan opened up about her ideas and singer Adele and Fashion designers such as Stella McCartney asked to donate their time.
She states in the clip: “More than 2 million women in the United States and tens of millions of women worldwide have lost their jobs because of Covid.
“I think we can have some spillover effect when we see all of us doing that and all committing to some kind of service.”
She invited 40 activities, artists, athletes and world leaders to join. Stella and Adele are joined by the poet Amanda Gorman, the wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Sophie Gregowart Rudeau.
