— While Mike Richards is no longer the host of “‘Jeopardy!,” he’s still running the show. The New York Times reports Sony officals told staffers on Monday that he will stay on as the show’s executive producer. He lost his new job after his comments about women made on an old podcast resurfaced. He has since apologized and will now undergo sensitivity training.
— Erin Andrews is opening up about her struggles with in-vitro-fertilization. In a new personal essay, the veteran sports broadcaster wrote for Bulletin, the 43-year-old says she has been doing IVF treatments for the last eight years. Andrews calls it a “time-consuming and emotionally draining process” and said it is not talked about enough. The former “Dancing with the Stars” host added it is difficult to juggle it with her busy work schedule as she is starting her seventh round of IVF treatment. She said she is on the same team as all the other woman going through fertility struggles and she doesn’t want to hide it anymore. Andrews married former NHL player Jarret Stoll in 2017.
— Singer Doja Cat is gearing up to host the 2021 MTV’s Video Music Awards next month. She announced the news on Instagram on Wednesday. In addition to her hosting duties, she’s also set to perform and is up for five awards including “Artist of the Year” and “Video of the Year.” The MTV VMAs will air live from New York City on September 12th.
— The Food Network is entering the world of scripted films. Variety reports The Food Network teamed up with Discovery Plus to create “Candy Coated Christmas.” The film will star “The Pioneer Woman” host Ree Drummond. It’s set to come out on Discovery Plus sometime in November.
— It looks like Marvel fans are loving the new ” Spider-Man: No Way Home” trailer. Sony Pictures announced the trailer surpassed “Avengers: Endgame” for most views of a Marvel trailer in 24 hours. The Spider-Man trailer hit 355-million views within a day while “Avengers: Endgame” had 289-million.
— Honey Boo Boo is gracing the cover of Teen Vogue in celebration of her upcoming 16th birthday. The reality TV star, whose real name is Alana Thompson, was featured in the magazine out Wednesday. She is looking all grown up wearing a light green suit coat with mismatched tights and a black and white checkered dress with a matching black, sequin vest in another look. In the interview, she got honest about her mom’s struggles with drugs and how it has been very hard on her and her family. She added she is trying to change body type stigmas among teens her age and says fans can’t expect her to stay little forever. Honey Boo Boo turns 16 on Saturday.
— Actor Michael Nader is dead. People reports he died in his Northern California home on Monday after battling cancer. He was 76. One of Nader’s most notable roles is his ten-year run on ABC’s daytime soap opera “All My Children.” He’s also well known for his time as Dex Dexter on “Dynasty.” He is survived by his wife and daughter.
— “Black Panther” actress Letitia Wright is out of the hospital after getting injured on the set of the film’s sequel. Deadline reports the actress got hurt while in Boston, Massachusetts during a scene with a stunt rig. While a Marvel spokesperson said her injures were minor, she still got checked out at a local hospital. The incident is reportedly not going to impact the film’s July 8th release.
— Adult film star Ron Jeremy is now facing over 30 counts of various sex crimes. The LA Times reports the charges stem from alleged incidents spanning 25 years and involving more than 20 women. His alleged victims range in age from 15 to 51. The 68-year-old has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges. He’s set to return to court in October.
— A lead character on the Nickelodeon show “Zoey 101” is suing her ex-husband. Alexa Nikolas, who played Nicole on the 2000’s show, claims Rhye frontman Michael Milosh preyed on her as a minor, groomed her, sexually assaulted her and manipulated her into marrying him when she was only 19-years-old. Nikolas claims the two began their relationship when she was 16 and he was 33, but they didn’t meet in person until she turned 18. The complaint, filed at Los Angeles County’s Superior Court, alleges Milosh eventually convinced her to marry him so he could obtain a green card.
— An award-winning Hollywood director says he still isn’t convinced by the official explanation of 9-11. Spike Lee has been busy promoting his new HBO docuseries about the terrorist attacks. In it, he questions how and why the World Trade Center towers fell. The series features interviews with members of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, a conspiracy group that claims jet fuel can not melt metal beams. Lee says he hopes his new project will let people make up their own mind about what happened 20 years ago. He says, “I respect the intelligence of the audience.”
