And the TV show just keeps coming.
It’s still more than a month away from the start of the new fall broadcast season, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to see in August.
Also, the final seasons of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (NBC August 12th) and “The Walking Dead” (AMC August 22nd) will both begin in the next few days.
For football fans, there’s “Hard Knock with the Dallas Cowboys” (August 10, HBO). For dating show enthusiasts, there is “Bachelor in Paradise” (August 16, ABC). And for those looking for some horror, “American Horror Story” (August 25, FX) is back in all its miserable glory.
In addition, here are five new products that are exciting in August:
“Fantasy Island”
Yes, we’re pretty tired of the relentless obsession with restarting TVs.
On the other hand, they sometimes stimulate our curiosity.
This is the case for this update, in which Roselyn Sanchez (“Devious Maids”) plays Elena Roque, a descendant of Ricardo Montalbán’s iconic character and a steward of the mysterious tropical resort.
There, guests meet their deepest desires, but rarely in the way they expect.
According to Fox’s synopsis, Elena “sets aside her own ambitions, and even her love for life, to protect her family’s heritage.”
Our only question: “Deplane! Deplane!”?

“Homeroom teacher”
The 2020 Auckland High School class is the subject of this provocative and exciting 90-minute documentary directed by Peter Nicks.
Knicks takes a wall-hit approach to record elastic OHS seniors, as their special year suddenly brings unprecedented situations and uncertain uncertainties in a rapidly developing pandemic. I will take it. Meanwhile, student groups are working hard to eliminate police officers from campus against the backdrop of growing national demand for organizational change. “Homeroom”, executive producer Ryan Coogler, is the final chapter of the Oakland-based trilogy Knicks, following “Waiting Room” (2012) and “Force” (2017). All three examine the challenges faced by struggling agencies such as Highland Hospital and Oakland Police.

“Heels”

Even those who don’t strictly follow wrestling know names like “The Rock” and “Stone Cold.” Steve Austin. But megawatt superstars are a rare exception to the brutal business of finding many of their warrior Hulks struggling far from the TV spotlight on the hard scrubbable indie circuit.
The world is the setting for this story of two Georgian brothers, Stephen Amel and Alexander Ludwig, fighting for leadership in the wrestling league in a small family town after their father’s death.
So which is the “good guy” and which is the “heel”, the name given to the villain in the ring?

“Nine perfect strangers”
Nicole Kidman has appeared in the miniseries “Nine Perfect Strangers” about health and wellness hideouts, but it’s not what it looks like.
When Nicole Kidman first teamed up with screenwriter David E. Kelley and Australian writer Liane Moriarty, it created the blockbuster miniseries “Big Little Lies.” Can they bring another blockbuster to their hands?
Kelly has adopted Moriarty’s novel about nine city dwellers arriving at a remote health and wellness resort in an attempt to revitalize people’s lives. They soon realize that this place, and the mysterious woman who runs it (Kidman), isn’t what they expected.
Impressive casts include Melissa McCarthy, Luke Evans, Regina Hall and Bobby Cannavale.

‘Chair’
Sandra Oh (“Grey’s Anatomy”, “Killing Eve”) has played many dramas in her career. Now she’s aiming for a satirical comedy headline.
In this six-episode series, Oh plays Dr. Kim Joon, the new chair of the university’s English department, which faces declining enrollment and many other challenges. She declares that we are in a “disastrous crisis.” Can she fix it? Causes collisions, scandals and comedy accidents.
It also starred Jay Duplass and Holland Taylor. The series was written by Amanda Peet and includes former Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss as executive producers.
