Lord experienced a “culture shock” when he re-entered the spotlight after a break.
The “Greenlight” hit maker hasn’t been in the limelight for more than two years, but after releasing her next album, “Solar Power,” she began to participate in interviews and television appearances again.
And Lord admits that acting like a “pop star” feels “ridiculous” after a long distance from her career.
In an email magazine to fans, she wrote: “It’s always a pretty wild adjustment to return to American life, especially because of the zone I’ve moved in. I was really shocked by the culture.
“I felt like a freak, do you know? Like a flashy little goldfish in her own special bowl.
“I know you know this, but the world of pop stars is ridiculous, extravagant, overkill, and very aesthetically pleasing.
“When I was away for a while, I remembered a deep strangeness.”
Lord’s comment comes after she recently said it was a “sacred” experience from social media after she wiped out her Instagram and Twitter profiles.
She said: “It was God, I really enjoy it. I’m a shy and sensitive person.
“That’s a lot of information. I understand that I was overwhelming myself with headlines and thoughts from others all day long. It didn’t give me much room to have ideas or brainstorm things. I am very grateful now. “
The “Royal’s” hit maker, 24, previously claimed to have “lost” his freedom by spending a lot of time on social media.
She explained: “Apart from feeling lost in free will, some of the reasons that made me peace on social media are about our planet, organized racism, and the atrocities of the police in this country. It was a huge amount of stress I was feeling.
“I don’t know how you deal with it, explaining that I’m reasonably neurotic.”
