Roman Kemp is a millionaire.
Capital Breakfast DJ has seen his fate swell last year thanks to many joint ventures with his renowned dad, Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp.
According to The Mail on Sunday, the pair received £ 150,000 to model Marks & Spencer’s menswear and £ 10,000 each for each episode of the ITV show Martin & Romans Weekend Best. Twenty-two episodes were screened last year. An additional 44 are planned for 2021.
In addition, Roman and Martin earned £ 42,000 for each series of “Celebrity Gogglebox” and were featured together in ITV’s “DNA Journey.”
Sources told the publication that the father and son duo were “flooded with offers” for new advertising campaigns and endorsement deals, which could further increase the fate of the pair.
The 28-year-old broadcaster had previously talked about “luck” that he felt he was working with his father during a coronavirus pandemic.
He said: “We were very lucky. Working together meant we could see each other. [during lockdown].. I am very a lifesaver and I am really grateful. “
Earlier this year, Roman admitted that he was close to killing himself in 2018 in a 13-year fight against depression.
In the documentary “Roman Kemp: Our Silent Emergency,” he told his mother, Shirlie Holliman:
“That day I thought about going to the station and jumping in front of the train. I’m sorry, I haven’t told you that.”
Roman, who has been taking antidepressants since the age of 15, explained how much he was affected by the fear that he was only successful because of his father.
He added:
“I remember telling myself,’What’s the point? Why am I continuing?’”
